The dictionary definition of Fitness

February 17, 2016

  1. The condition of being physically fit and healthy.
  2. An organism's ability to survive and reproduce in a particular environment.

These definitions are true, but when we think of fitness we often think of the aggressively fit person who lives at the gym and only thinks in terms of pounds and protein. Or, we think of the chiseled models who sell us the expensive exercise equipment.

Fitness extremes like that are unrealistic and unachievable long term. At some point in your life, you might celebrate a holiday, have kids, or "heaven forbid" eat a piece of cake at a birthday party. Gasp!

So what then? Well, here at Vitality Fitness Delivered we believe that parties, holidays, and families are a wonderful part of life. What you do the rest of the time determines your "fitness". There is a fine balance between an oiled up Spartan and Mr.Potato Head.

The good news is... there is a magic formula for fitness: The lifelong practice of moving your body and eating nutrient rich foods. Simple.

This is the kind of fitness we successfully teach our clients. It's about achieving personal challenges, getting stronger, and feeling good. It's about eating delicious, fulfilling, nutritious food and feeling good once you've finished. And when the occasion crops up for a piece of cake isn't looked at as a "slip up" but as a "treat"!

Fitness is the lifelong habit of treating your body well, so that life can be fully enjoyed. So go eat some veggies and get movin'!
